1 large pot or slow cooker filled with bones, roughly 2 lbs
Vegetable scraps and peels equal to about 1 onion, 1 carrot, and 1 celery stalk
1 garlic clove
1 bay leaf
1 star of anise
Pinch of peppercorn

1T apple cider vinegar or any other vinegar, even wine will do
Fill the slow cooker with about a gallon of filtered water, or cover bones with 1-2 inches of airspace left for boiling water
