Beans Beans Without the Toot
- 1 cup any dried beans
- 3 cups pure filtered water or bone broth
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 piece of Kombu or dried seaweed
- Soak the beans in a large bowl overnight covered in water
- Add 1 Tbsp whey, lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
- 12-24 hours later, drain the beans and place in a pot
- Add 3 cups fresh filtered water or bone broth
- Place 1 long strip of dried seaweed such as Kombu in the pot
- Bring to a boil, lower heat and cover but make sure lid has room for steam to escape
- Simmer gently for 1 hour or until soft
- Do not add salt until after beans are cooked
- Eat when cooled or add into any recipe
- Enjoy the flatulent free feeling of properly prepared legumes!
