Homemade Chai Tea
- One mug filled with water and one filled with whole milk or nut milk
- 1 cinnamon stick or 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder or 1 inch piece of fresh ginger peeled
- 1/8 tsp of ground cloves or a few whole cloves
- 1/4 tsp dried cardamom or a few cardamom pods
- a few whole black pepper corns
- 1 tsp dried peppermint tea, a few peppermint sprigs or 1 mint tea bag
- 2 tsp raw honey
- *all of the spices are optional so choose what you like
- Bring the mug of water to a boil in a pot
- Add all of the spices and turn to a low simmer
- Pour in the milk and mint tea
- Cover and steep gently on low for 10-20 minutes
- Pour into the 2 mugs and add 1 tsp of raw honey per mug
